DESCRIPTION:

This cartridge heater pellet stove igniter, also known as a "hot rod," measures 4" long and 3/8" in diameter. It has a power rating of 300 watts at 125 volts. Breckwell employs a wide range of sizes in their various units, which can all appear to be the same.

Note that USSC, the parent company of Ashley, Breckwell, and Vogelzang, will occasionally ship 250-watt igniters as replacement parts and will also build units with both 300-watt and 250-watt igniters. They can be used interchangeably. All other specifications are the same. Both work well with no discernible differences.

When replacing an igniter, it is recommended that the door gasket be replaced as well. Air entering the firebox through the door gasket causes delayed ignitions, which eventually causes igniters to fail. Part 88066 is the door gasket for units that use this igniter.
