Designed for the high-temperature environment of heating appliances, this ceramic glass withstands temperatures up to 1250°F and resists the extreme temperature changes associated with thermal shock. Ceramic glass can withstand up to three times the heat of tempered glass.

Important Information: 

Ceramic glass requires room for thermal expansion. The replacement glass should have at least 1/8" of clearance to expand when heated. Insufficient clearance can place stress on the glass and cause it to break.

Mounting screws and other metal hardware also expand when exposed to high temperatures. Do not overtighten mounting hardware against the glass.

Do not substitute ceramic glass for tempered glass on a fireplace door unless the appliance or masonry door is specifically approved for ceramic glass. Ceramic glass should never be installed in a factory-built or prefab fireplace unless the unit is heater rated and approved for this type of glass.
