Installation
- Remove the old gasket and all remaining cement from the gasket channel or repair area.
- Clean the surface thoroughly, removing ash, rust, dirt, and loose debris.
- Cut the nozzle of the cartridge to the desired bead size and load it into a standard caulking gun.
- Apply a thin, continuous bead of A.W. Perkins 81 Black Stove & Gasket Cement to the gasket channel or repair area.
- Press the fiberglass gasket firmly into the wet cement, taking care not to stretch the gasket during installation.
- Trim the gasket to the correct length and butt the ends together without overlapping.
- Allow the cement to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions before operating the stove.
- Note: Install only on a cool stove. Apply to clean, dry surfaces and allow the cement to cure completely before exposing it to high temperatures.
