Whether you have a gas or wood burning fireplace, we know that it can be difficult to find replacement glass from the original manufacturer. Many times, they do not sell the restoration pieces, or they may have discontinued specific units. That's where we come in!

When it comes to replacement glass for your fireplace door, you want superior strength and quality that will stand up to the high temperatures coming from within your hearth. Our tempered glass is up to 7 times stronger than regular glass, offering the ultimate in mechanical durability and safety! The thermal shock rating of 400°F makes it a superior replacement for factory-built, zero-clearance, and most masonry doors. We offer our tempered glass in 3/16", 1/8", or 1/4" thickness to suit your specific needs. Available in clear, as well as subtle gray or bronze tints. All of our glass comes with a seamed edge finish, which has been lightly sanded to ensure no sharp areas remain.

Some important things to remember:

  • Glass expands when heated! Please request your cut of glass to be at least 1/8" shy of the mounting surface. This measurement will allow for a safe thermal expansion. We cannot be held responsible for breaks due to improper calculations!
  • Metal screws and mounting hardware also expand when exposed to high temperatures! To avoid damage to your glass when your appliance is in use, please do not over-tighten hardware. We cannot be held responsible for breaks due to hardware that has been secured too firmly.
  • Please submit any additional information, questions, or concerns you may have about your online glass request to the "Notes" box on this product page.

Can I enjoy a fire with my fireplace doors closed?

Tempered glass can tolerate pretty high temperatures. However, burning a fire with your doors closed generates extra heat, creating conditions that are too extreme for the glass to handle.

Can I install ceramic (pyroceram) replacement glass on my fireplace doors?

Ceramic glass should NEVER be installed on a factory-built fireplace or prefab unit, as this can result in overheating and a potential house fire.

I have a masonry fireplace. Can I use a pyroceram option for my replacement glass?

Some masonry doors are rated for ceramic glass doors. Please check with your appliance's owner manual for details on masonry door replacement glass. If the information does not clearly state that the doors are APPROVED for ceramic glass, we highly recommend avoiding this option!

What if I need a specific shape for my replacement glass?

Shapes are not contiguous with tempered glass, as it cannot be cut with arches, radius corners, and the like. If your existing door glass resembles any of the following:

  • arched top
  • round or curved edge
  • non-square angles
  • notch cut into the side(s)
  • front beveled edges
  • grooves or indents is highly likely that you have a fireplace insert or a wood, pellet, or coal stove. In this case, you need a pyroceram replacement. If you require more assistance, our team of experts would be happy to help you!

For all of your tempered glass needs:
  • We recommend a flat fiberglass gasket and high temperature cement for most installs. However, if your fireplace requires a rope or tadpole gasket, we have these options available, as well.
  • We can edge polish for you! Offering Flat or Pencil polishing at $0.50 per linear inch.
  • Need a custom size? We'd be happy to oblige! Simply call us at 1-888-986-1535 for more information!
