Replacement glass for direct vent gas heating stoves may not be available from the original manufacturer. That's where we come in! Fast Replacement Glass is your custom glass source for your heating application!

Direct vent stoves are versatile and efficient! They emit no fumes into the home, which makes these applications perfect for those who suffer from allergies or asthma. With the help of a sealed 2-pipe ventilation system that is installed horizontally through a single wall or vertically through the roof, these applications can be situated almost anywhere in your home. The cool air that is used for combustion enters through the outer pipe. It is heated and directed into your home via the sealed radiant glass front. The inner pipe then routes 100% of the exhaust fumes back outside. Direct vent stoves burn fuel at a 70% efficiency rate, creating a greater comfort level for your home while using less natural gas or propane.

When it comes to replacement glass, you want the ultimate in quality and dependability. You also want to make sure you are getting the correct glass window for your direct vent gas stove!

  • Regular Direct Vent Gas Stoves
These easy to operate applications deliver a lower BTU output and are only capable of providing heat to the room in which they are installed. Regular direct vent gas stoves must be operated with a TEMPERED glass front.

  • AFUE-Rated Direct Vent Gas Stoves
The Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency rating is used with applications that run at periodic intervals to maintain an even temperature. They are able to produce a higher BTU output than regular direct vent models. They usually have circulating fans to help deliver heat for your home, and are capable of providing warmth to multiple rooms. AFUE-rated direct vent gas stoves require a CERAMIC glass front.

Our tempered glass is up to 7 times stronger than regular glass, ensuring a durable and safe product! The thermal shock rating of 400°F makes it an excellent replacement for the glass door on your regular direct vent gas stove. Our tempered glass is available in 3/16", 1/8", or 1/4" thickness, and clear, gray, or bronze tints. All of our glass comes with a seamed edge finish, which has been lightly sanded to ensure no sharp areas remain.

The thermal shock rating of 1380°F on our ceramic glass makes it appropriate for AFUE-rated applications. We offer our 3/16" thick, amber tinted pyroceram in a many shapes and sizes. Our glass has a seamed edge finish, which has been lightly sanded to smooth off any sharp areas.

Some important things to remember:

  • Glass expands when heated! Please request your cut of glass to be at least 1/8" shy of the mounting surface. This measurement will allow for a safe thermal expansion. We cannot be held responsible for breaks due to improper calculations!
  • Metal screws and mounting hardware also expand when exposed to high temperatures! To avoid damage to your glass when your appliance is in use, please do not over-tighten hardware. We cannot be held responsible for breaks due to hardware that has been secured too firmly.
  • Please submit any additional information, questions, or concerns you may have about your online glass request to the "Notes" box on this product page.

Is there another way to tell if my direct vent gas stove has tempered or pyroceram glass?

If the glass on your door resembles a shape with curves, notches, arches, etc., it is most likely a pyroceram option. We have a wide selection of popular patterns, up to 36" x 20" for your stove. If you need something a little larger, please give us a call at 1-888-986-1535. We would be happy to  cut your glass to other specifications not mentioned on our product pages.

Another why to tell if your current application has tempered or pyroceram glass is to look at the why the original glass broke. If it shattered into several little chards, then it is tempered glass. If it broke into chunks of glass or maybe just cracked, then this is pyroceram.

Can't I install tempered replacement glass in my direct vent gas stove regardless of the BTU output?

Tempered glass only has a rating to 400° F. Therefore, it is not recommended for higher burning applications. If your gas stove produces a heat output higher than what the tempered glass can sustain, we highly recommend that you replace your glass with pyroceram.

What causes the subtle amber-tint in pyroceram glass?

The chemical breakdown that occurs during the manufacturing process is what causes the amber tint. Pyroceram is actually a polycrystalline, ceramic material that can withstand higher temperatures than tempered glass alone.

For all of your pyroceram glass needs:

We recommend a rope fiberglass gasket and high temperature cement for most installs. However, if your stove requires a flat or tadpole gasket, we have these options available, as well.

Need a custom size? We'd be happy to oblige! Simply call us at 1-888-986-1535 for more information!
