The included 2-fluid-ounce bottle of gasket adhesive features a 100% pure sodium silicate formula that doesn't require heat to achieve a full cure. Once set, it can withstand aggressive temperatures. This griddle gasket kit is designed to fit any Vermont Castings wood stove. Preparation and Application: Preparation: To install, remove the old gasket and thoroughly clean the area. For your safety, wear protective gloves and eye protection during application, and wipe up spills immediately with a wet towel. To Use: After removing the old gasket and cleaning the area, use the included clear Stove Gasket Adhesive to attach the new seal. This adhesive not only acts as the "glue" to hold the gasket in place but can also be used to seal minor cracks and pinholes in the stove body. For Horizontal Surfaces: If applying the gasket on a horizontal surface, such as a door, remove the door and lay it flat. Apply the adhesive to the door channel, then press the new gasket firmly into the adhesive. Allow the adhesive to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before firing up your stove.
